๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’” โ€œA GREAT CHANCE TO RAISE MY FAMILYโ€: TEXAS FOOTBALL COACH AND HIS WIFE KILLED IN DEVASTATING CRASH ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ™

A Texas school community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of East Bernard ISD athletic director and head football coach Jeremy Shane Jenkins and his wife, Brandy Renee Jenkins, following a fatal crash Saturday night in Wharton County.

Jeremy was 51.

Brandy was 46.

Both were from East Bernard and were pronounced แด…แด‡แด€แด… at the scene.

Their sudden deaths have left students, athletes, teachers, coaches and families across the district grieving two people who had become deeply connected to the community. ๐Ÿ’”

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at approximately 10:07 p.m. on State Highway 60 near County Road 210.

DPS said a 2025 Tesla Model Y was traveling north on Highway 60 and approaching a curve when it left the east side of the roadway.

The vehicle then overturned.

Jeremy was driving, while Brandy was riding as the pแด€ssenger.

Both died at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Authorities have not released information indicating why the vehicle left the roadway. The available information does not establish whether speed, weather, impairment, another vehicle or a mechanical issue played a role.

For now, any explanation would be speculation.

For East Bernard ISD, however, the loss is already deeply personal.

Jeremy wasn’t simply an administrator or football coach.

He was someone who had invested himself in the young people around him.

As athletic director and head football coach, he worked closely with student-athletes and fellow coaches, while Brandy had recently begun a new chapter as a teacher at East Bernard Junior High School.

District leaders described Jeremy as someone who gave everything to his athletes and colleagues.

They remembered a coach who constantly studied the game but never lost sight of what mattered most: his students.

โ€œHe watched film non-stop, coached up our kids in the most loving way, truly wanted what was best for all kids,โ€ the district said.

Officials also described him as an โ€œall inโ€ kind of man who challenged people to see things differently and cared deeply about the coaches working alongside him.

Jeremy had previously spoken about why East Bernard mattered to him.

In a 2024 interview with KHOU 11, as he began his time as the school’s head football coach, he talked about the community’s football tradition and the support surrounding the program.

โ€œJust the tradition they’ve had here, support,โ€ he said.

But his decision to come to East Bernard wasn’t only about football.

Jeremy was thinking about his family.

He wanted his children to grow up surrounded by a strong community and a program they could be part of.

โ€œI’ve got young kids and I want them to be a part of a community and a program that’s sold out to football.โ€

He also described East Bernard as a โ€œgreat chance to raise my family.โ€

Those words now carry an especially painful weight.

The community he had chosen as a place to build a future is now mourning him and Brandy.

Jeremy quickly became an important part of the Brahmas football program, but district leaders emphasized that his greatest impact was not measured only by wins and losses.

It was measured by relationships.

By the way he encouraged his players.

By the time he gave his athletes.

By the care he showed his colleagues.

And by the belief that young people could become better athletes while also becoming better people.

Now, students who once looked to Jeremy on the football field and Brandy in the school community are facing the reality that they will never see them again.

For their family and loved ones, the loss is even more profound.

A husband and wife who were building their life together are suddenly gone.

For East Bernard, two familiar faces have disappeared from the places where they were expected to be for years to come.

The investigation into the crash continues, and authorities have not announced additional details about what caused the vehicle to leave the highway.

But as investigators work to understand the tragedy, the school community is left to remember two people whose lives reached far beyond one Saturday night.

Jeremy and Brandy Jenkins came to East Bernard to build a life and serve a community. Now that community is coming together to honor them. ๐Ÿˆโค๏ธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Please keep their family, children, students, athletes, colleagues and friends in your thoughts and prayers. ๐Ÿ™
