Newly released Ring doorbell footage is offering additional insight into the final days before 39-year-old Elena Moore disappeared, as investigators continue working to determine what happened.

According to reports, the video was recorded about a week before Elena went missing. In the footage, she is seen approaching an apartment shortly after a DoorDash delivery had been made. Authorities said Elena picked up a food order that did not belong to her, appeared confused while reading the receipt, and later handed the order back to the resident when they answered the door. At one point, she also appeared to briefly attempt to enter the apartment before realizing it was not the residence she was looking for.

The couple who encountered Elena later told investigators that she seemed disoriented and appeared to be struggling mentally at the time.

Police emphasized that there is currently no evidence linking the Ring doorbell footage directly to Elena’s disappearance. However, investigators are reviewing all available information to better understand her condition and movements in the days leading up to the incident.

Elena was last seen on June 11 after leaving Planet Fitness in Lexington, South Carolina. Additional surveillance footage released by authorities showed her walking through a Publix parking lot later that evening. Investigators said she was last known to be heading toward a wooded area near Old Cherokee Road.

In a heartbreaking development, the search for Elena came to an end when her body was discovered on Wednesday afternoon.

During a press conference, the Lexington Police Department announced that investigators received a tip that led them to a specific area, where search teams ultimately located Elena’s body at approximately 2:48 p.m.

Elena had been missing since June 12 after she was seen leaving Planet Fitness and walking toward a wooded area behind a nearby Lowe’s Home Improvement store. Her disappearance prompted an extensive search involving law enforcement officers, emergency responders, and members of the community.

At this time, her cause of death has not been determined.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has taken over the death investigation and will work to establish how Elena died and whether any criminal activity was involved. Authorities have not announced whether foul play is suspected.

Police have also addressed online speculation surrounding possible sightings reported on social media. While officials confirmed that a tip helped direct investigators to the location where Elena was found, they have not publicly identified the source or released further details.

As the investigation continues, family, friends, and community members are mourning the loss of Elena Moore while hoping investigators can provide answers about the circumstances surrounding her death.
