💙🙏 Cancer Survivor and Father of Three Faces New Medical Challenge as Family Holds Onto Faith and Hope

For many cancer survivors, completing treatment marks the beginning of a new chapter. For 32-year-old Skylar Strickland, however, life has presented another unexpected challenge—one that has left doctors searching for answers and his family leaning on faith more than ever.

As a teenager, Skylar was diagnosed with Stage 3B Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After months of intensive treatment, he overcame the disease and gradually rebuilt his life. He married his wife, Jaida, and together they created the family they had always dreamed of, raising their three children—Landon, Alexa, and Kalli.

To his children, Skylar is simply Dad: the person who encourages them, comforts them, and reminds them that family always comes first.

Over the past several months, however, unexplained health problems have dramatically changed daily life.

Instead of spending time at home, Skylar has experienced repeated hospital stays while specialists work to determine the cause of his worsening condition.

Doctors have identified several serious medical concerns, including enlarged lymph nodes, enlargement of the liver and spleen, inflammation affecting both lungs, abnormal liver function, significantly reduced blood counts, and fluid buildup within his body. Physicians are also evaluating the possibility of Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID), a disorder that weakens the immune system and increases vulnerability to infections.

Although no definitive diagnosis has yet been confirmed, medical teams continue performing extensive testing while providing treatments designed to stabilize his condition.

Skylar has received blood transfusions, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy, antibiotics, and antifungal medications as doctors carefully monitor his progress and continue investigating the underlying cause of his illness.

For his family, the uncertainty has become one of the most difficult parts of the journey. Each new test brings hope that the next result may finally explain the symptoms and allow doctors to develop a more targeted treatment plan.

Through it all, Jaida has shared that their faith remains the foundation carrying them forward. While the unknown can be overwhelming, she continues believing that hope is stronger than fear and that every day brings another opportunity for healing.
