💙🕊️ After Nine Surgeries, 19-Year-Old Logan Combs Continues His Remarkable Fight Toward Recovery

ATLANTA, Georgia — Just three months ago, 19-year-old Logan Combs was enjoying an exciting milestone in life.

Only one day after purchasing the motorcycle he had worked hard to afford, the Alabama teenager headed out for what should have been an ordinary ride home.

Instead, his life changed forever.

According to his family, Logan was only minutes from his home in Daphne, Alabama, when another vehicle entered his path, leading to a devastating collision.

Emergency responders transported him by helicopter to a hospital in Pensacola, where doctors began treating a long list of serious injuries.

Since that day, Logan has undergone nine surgeries, including his most recent procedure—a colostomy.

His parents, Chris and Lisa Combs, say the recovery has been far more difficult than they ever imagined.

Among Logan’s injuries were damage to multiple cervical and thoracic vertebrae, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

He also sustained a traumatic brain injury, fractures to his jaw, clavicle, shoulder blade, wrist, pelvis, thumb, and several other bones.

Today, Logan continues rehabilitation at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, where each day brings both new challenges and meaningful victories.

According to his mother, Logan recently had the wires removed from his jaw, although additional support remains in place as healing continues.

Pain management remains an important part of his care, but despite everything, Logan continues participating in daily rehabilitation.

His family says he now spends around five hours each day sitting upright and working with therapists to regain as much strength and independence as possible.

One recent milestone brought hope to everyone following his journey.

During occupational therapy, Logan successfully extended his right hand for the first time.

Although it may seem like a small movement, for his family it represented another important step forward.

Lisa says the emotional weight of watching a child endure repeated procedures and uncertainty is difficult to describe.

The family has been making regular five-hour trips between Daphne and Atlanta so they can remain by Logan’s side while balancing responsibilities at home.

Through it all, they say the support they’ve received from complete strangers has made an extraordinary difference.

Cards, letters, and encouraging messages now fill Logan’s hospital room, offering daily reminders that people across the country are cheering him on.

His family hopes those messages continue, giving Logan extra encouragement as he faces the long rehabilitation journey ahead.

While many challenges remain, every therapy session, every small improvement, and every act of kindness serves as another reminder that recovery is built one step at a time.
