Born weighing more than 4 kilograms, Anabelle entered the world as a healthy baby with a future full of possibilities. But as she grew, her life took a heartbreaking turn that no child should ever have to endure. 💔

Anabelle, from the Philippines, was born with Crouzon syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects the growth of the skull and facial bones. As she grew older, the condition caused distinctive facial features, including prominent eyes because of the way her skull developed. 🧬

Instead of receiving the care and protection every child deserves, Anabelle’s early years were marked by unimaginable hardship. The youngest of seven children in an impoverished family, she was separated from her loved ones at a young age and eventually fell into the hands of people who exploited vulnerable children for money.

For years, she was moved from place to place across Negros Island and was often seen begging in busy public areas while adults controlled her daily life. According to those who later rescued her, she lived in fear, instability, and neglect throughout much of her childhood. 😢

Everything changed when Anabelle was found by the Kalipay Negrense Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting children affected by trafficking, exploitation, and abuse. At just five years old, she was finally given the chance to begin a new life. 🤝💕

Caregivers quickly realized that she needed not only love and safety but also urgent medical treatment. Because of her condition, her eyes could not fully close while she slept, leaving her vulnerable to ongoing discomfort and other health complications. 🏥

One person deeply moved by her story was Gonzalo Erize, a volunteer from Argentina. Determined to help, he worked with generous donors and contributed his own resources to raise the funds needed for Anabelle’s life-changing surgery.

“She deserves the same opportunities as any other child,” he told supporters. “No child should have to endure what she has experienced.” ❤️

Those caring for Anabelle say the emotional wounds from her past took time to heal.

“There were nights when she would wake up frightened from bad dreams,” one caregiver shared. “But little by little, she began to feel safe.” 🌙💛

Recently, Anabelle traveled to Manila to undergo surgery as part of her ongoing treatment. Gonzalo even flew thousands of miles from Argentina to stand beside her during the procedure, offering comfort and encouragement throughout her journey. ✈️🌸

Today, Anabelle is surrounded by people who truly care about her future. She is receiving the medical care, protection, education, and love that every child deserves.
