According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Alexis was walking along a U.S. 83/277 frontage road north of Hawley late Thursday night when he was struck by a vehicle.

Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital.

But despite those efforts, the injuries were too severe.

Alexis did not survive.

He was only 20 years old.

For his family, the shock has been overwhelming.
