💔 At Just 1 Year Old and Weighing Only 3kg, Little Rumi Is Fighting a Battle No Child Should Face

For most parents, a child’s first year of life is filled with milestones—first smiles, first steps, and joyful memories. For little Rumi and her family, however, that first year has been dominated by hospital rooms, medical procedures, and a fight for survival.

At just one year old, Rumi weighs only 3 kilograms, a fraction of what most children her age typically weigh. Her tiny body is battling not one but two rare and serious liver conditions: biliary atresia and hepatic fibrosis.

Biliary atresia is a rare disease that affects the bile ducts, preventing the normal flow of bile from the liver. Over time, this can cause severe liver damage and life-threatening complications. Hepatic fibrosis, meanwhile, causes scarring of the liver, further affecting its ability to function properly.

Together, these conditions have created enormous challenges for Rumi since the earliest days of her life.

Instead of spending her days playing, exploring, and growing like other toddlers, Rumi has been forced to endure frequent hospital visits, ongoing medical monitoring, and painful treatments. Her family has watched helplessly as she faces obstacles that no child should ever have to experience.
