A Wednesday morning in Gaffney, South Carolina, turned into a devastating tragedy when 17-year-old Jomiltron Sentell Fair Jr., a Gaffney High School student, was fatally sH๏τ near a school bus stop on West Rutledge Avenue.

According to the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office, Fair left his apartment shortly before 7 a.m. and walked across the street toward the bus stop. At approximately 6:49 a.m., he was preparing to board the school bus when a male approached him.

Officials said a brief altercation took place before Fair was sH๏τ. He was pronounced ᴅᴇᴀᴅ at the scene.

The incident has deeply affected the Gaffney High School community, particularly because students were present when the tragedy occurred.
