🧠💔 59 DAYS AFTER A MᴀssIVE BRAIN BLEED, THIS TEXAS TEEN IS STILL FIGHTING FOR HER MIRACLE

Nearly 9,000 miles from home, 18-year-old Thalia’s life changed in an instant.

The recent Tascosa High School graduate from Amarillo, Texas, was enjoying time with her family in Thailand when she suddenly became lightheaded, collapsed and began having seizures. What initially seemed like a sudden medical emergency quickly became a fight for her life.

Doctors discovered that Thalia had suffered a mᴀssive brain bleed.

Her family faced an unimaginable situation in a foreign country. Thalia underwent two emergency brain surgeries in Thailand as doctors worked to stabilize her condition.

For weeks, one of the family’s biggest hopes was simply to get their daughter back home.

Eventually, they did.

Thalia made the extraordinary medical journey from Thailand back to Texas, allowing her family to continue her care closer to home. ✈️🇺🇸

But returning to Texas did not mean the uncertainty was over.

Now, 59 days after the event that changed everything, doctors in Dallas are working to better understand what happened inside Thalia’s brain and what recovery might look like.

There has been at least one piece of encouraging news.

According to her family, a cerebral angiogram showed no additional evidence of an aneurysm or an arteriovenous malformation, commonly known as an AVM. These abnormal blood-vessel conditions can sometimes contribute to serious brain bleeding.

For Thalia’s loved ones, that result brought a measure of relief. 🙏

However, her neurological condition remains largely unchanged.

Her movements are still limited and not purposeful. Her arms barely move, although she does pull away when exposed to painful stimulation.

And then there are the moments her family holds onto.

At times, Thalia’s eyes appear to follow the sound of someone’s voice. Other times, her loved ones say it feels as though she is looking directly past them.

For a family that has already traveled halfway around the world and back, those tiny signs carry enormous emotional weight. ❤️

When Thalia was still receiving treatment in Thailand, her family asked people to pray for something very specific — that one day they would no longer be the only ones talking to her.

They wanted Thalia to talk back.

That day has not come yet.

But her family continues to hope, wait and fight alongside her.

As Thalia begins another chapter of her recovery, they are asking for continued prayers — for her brain to heal, for her lungs to clear, for small responses to become purposeful movements, and ultimately for the moment they have been waiting for most:

To hear their girl’s voice again. 🥺❤️🙏
