🥺💙🌈 AFTER 50 OPERATIONS AND TWO LEG AMPUTATIONS, AMY IS FINALLY WALKING AND DREAMING BIG AGAIN ✨
At just five months old, Amy Wolstenholme became critically ill with meningococcal septicaemia.

Her tiny body was severely affected by the infection, leaving her with extensive skin damage and life-changing injuries. Doctors worked desperately to save her life, but Amy eventually needed multiple amputations, including the loss of part of one leg and several toes and fingers. 💔🏥

Over the years, she endured around 50 operations, spending much of her childhood in hospitals and facing challenges most children could never imagine.

🥺💙 ANOTHER DIFFICULT DECISION
Amy had been using a prosthetic leg and a walking frame, but her remaining leg was causing serious problems with her growth and health.

Earlier this year, doctors at Alder Hey Hospital recommended amputating her remaining leg.

For her mother, Jade, it was an incredibly difficult decision.

But she knew it could give Amy a better chance at becoming mobile and enjoying life more fully. 🙏🌷

🌈✨ NOW SHE’S BACK OUTSIDE WITH HER FRIENDS
After receiving new prosthetic legs, Amy returned to school — and she was six inches taller.

More importantly, she can now move around more independently and finally join her friends outside instead of watching them play from a window. 🥹💙

She’s learning to walk and run, and she’s already dreaming about playing football and climbing trees. ⚽🌳✨

Her mother says Amy is incredibly resilient and always seems to find a reason to smile.
