🚨 LINDSAY CLANCY TRIAL: “I KNOW WHAT I MEANT” — WEEK 3 BRINGS NEW FOCUS TO HER MEDICAL RECORDS AND MENTAL STATE

Week 3 of Lindsay Clancy’s Mᴀssachusetts trial has brought renewed attention to the evidence surrounding her mental health and treatment before the 2023 deaths of her three children.
One of the most discussed courtroom moments came during testimony from former psychiatrist Dr. Jennifer Tufts. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington questioned Tufts about a medical note in which she had written that Clancy had “not hyper, pressured speech.” Tufts explained that she intended the note to mean that Clancy did not have pressured speech, despite the wording appearing differently in the record.

The exchange has become part of a much broader dispute over how Clancy’s condition was understood and treated. Prosecutors have pointed to her behavior, internet searches and communications as evidence supporting their case, while the defense argues that she was experiencing a severe psychiatric crisis, including postpartum psychosis, and that medication and treatment decisions contributed to her deterioration.

Jurors have also heard testimony about Clancy’s treatment history, including discussions of anxiety, depression, medications and symptoms she reported to healthcare providers in the months before the tragedy.
As the trial moves forward, both sides are asking jurors to interpret the same history very differently — with the prosecution focusing on criminal responsibility and the defense emphasizing Clancy’s alleged psychiatric state.
