More than six months after 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona, federal agents have reportedly returned to search the surrounding desert. 🌵

A neighbor living just a few houses away told reporters she recently saw individuals she recognized as FBI personnel searching the area in the days leading up to the six-month mark of Nancy’s disappearance.

While a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the local task force had not recently conducted a search there, the neighbor believed the agents were the same personnel previously involved in the investigation.

The FBI has not publicly commented on the reported activity.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie, is believed by investigators to have been abducted from her home during the early morning hours of February 1, 2026.

She was last seen the previous evening after family members dropped her off following a gathering.

Investigators later concluded that she had been taken against her will after discovering blood on the front porch that matched Nancy’s DNA.

The first note, reportedly sent around February 2 and addressed to Savannah Guthrie, claimed Nancy was:

“Safe but scared.”

It demanded $4 million in Bitcoin by February 5, increasing to $6 million if payment was not received by February 9.

The letter also referenced specific details inside Nancy’s home, including:

A second note, mailed several days later and addressed to the Guthrie family, claimed the captors had not realized the seriousness of Nancy’s heart condition.

The writer alleged that she had pᴀssed away shortly after being taken because of heart-related medical issues and stated she had been “buried in nature.”

Authorities have not verified those claims.

Investigators have instead focused on the unique writing style found within the letters.

According to law enforcement, the notes contain distinctive patterns involving:
