🖤🔥 PART 2: THE MAFIA BOSS LOOKED AT THE BABY… THEN REALIZED SOMEONE HAD LIED TO HIM FOR THREE YEARS
Nathan Blackwood stood frozen in the middle of his office.
“Grace,” he whispered, his eyes fixed on the silver pendant in Lily’s tiny hand. “Tell me the truth. Is she connected to the woman I was told had died?”
Grace pulled Lily close to her chest.
“You don’t understand,” she said, her voice trembling. “I was trying to protect her.”
“Protect her from whom?”
Before Grace could answer, Lily reached toward Nathan again, her little fingers curling around his black tie.
“Dada,” she murmured.
For the first time in years, the most feared man in New York looked completely defenseless.
Nathan slowly crouched in front of the child. When he saw the small birthmark behind her left ear, the color drained from his face.
He had seen that mark before.
On a baby pH๏τographed in a hospital three years ago—the night a fire destroyed a private medical wing and a woman named Elena disappeared.
Elena was Grace’s older sister.
And according to the official report, she had died that night.
“Where did you get this pendant?” Nathan asked, his voice suddenly cold.
Grace swallowed hard.
“Elena gave it to me before she disappeared. She told me that if anything happened to her, I had to keep Lily away from the Blackwood family.”
Nathan rose slowly.
“Why?”
Grace’s eyes filled with tears.
“Because she discovered what your father had done.”
The room fell silent.
Nathan’s father, Richard Blackwood, had died two years earlier. But his name still carried enough power to make seasoned criminals lower their voices.
“What did Elena discover?” Nathan demanded.
Grace shook her head. “I only know she found documents proving that someone in your family had arranged the hospital fire. She said the fire was meant to destroy evidence—not kill her.”
Nathan’s jaw тιԍнтened.
“Why didn’t you come to me?”
“Because three days after Elena vanished, someone left a pH๏τograph of Lily’s hospital room at my apartment.” Grace’s voice broke. “On the back, they wrote, ‘Tell Nathan, and the child disappears next.’”
For a moment, Nathan said nothing.
Then he took off his jacket and carefully wrapped it around Grace and Lily.
“No one is touching either of you,” he said. “Not while I’m alive.”
But Grace stepped away from him.
“You can’t promise that. You don’t even know who you’re fighting.”
Nathan’s expression hardened.
“Then I’ll find out.”
He reached for his phone and called his most trusted security chief.
“Lock down the estate. Nobody leaves. Check every camera recording from the past three months, and find out who has been accessing the old medical files.”
The security chief hesitated.
“Sir, there’s something you need to know. We found someone inside the east wing ten minutes ago.”
“Who?”
“A woman. She used a security code that was deactivated three years ago.”
Nathan went completely still.
“Did you identify her?”
The answer came in a low whisper.
“Yes, sir. The cameras captured her face.”
The security chief sent the image to Nathan’s phone.
Grace glanced at the screen—and suddenly clutched Lily so тιԍнтly that the baby began to cry.
The woman in the pH๏τograph had Elena’s eyes.
Her sister was alive.
But before Grace could speak, Nathan’s phone rang again. An unknown number appeared on the screen.
He answered.
A woman’s voice came through, quiet but unmistakable.
“Nathan, if you want to know why Lily calls you ‘Dada,’ stop trusting the woman standing beside you.”
Grace’s face turned white.
Then the caller added six words that shattered everything Nathan believed.
“Ask Grace who Lily’s father is.”
The call ended.
Nathan slowly turned toward Grace.
She held Lily close, tears streaming down her face.
And for the first time, Nathan wondered whether the woman he had protected for three years had been hiding a secret far more dangerous than the truth about his family.
“Grace,” he said softly, “whose daughter is Lily?”
Grace opened her mouth.
But before she could answer, every light in the mansion went out.
A gunsH๏τ echoed from the east wing.
And Lily began screaming.
