A Texas family is asking for prayers as they stand beside a devoted father whose life changed in an instant during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Aeric, a husband and father from the Rockport area, has remained in an induced coma for more than a week following a serious ATV accident that left him with multiple critical injuries. While doctors continue providing around-the-clock care, his loved ones are holding onto hope that each new day will bring signs of healing.

According to family members, Aeric has always been the kind of person who worked tirelessly to provide for the people he loved most. Whether caring for his children or supporting his family through everyday life, they describe him as someone who always put others first.

Now, the roles have been reversed.

His family has become his biggest source of strength, staying by his side and praying for the moment he opens his eyes again.

Medical teams have confirmed that Aeric sustained a severe traumatic brain injury along with multiple fractures involving his skull, face, pelvis, ribs, clavicle, and shoulder blade. During his treatment, doctors also discovered that he had experienced a stroke following the accident, adding another significant challenge to his recovery.

To help reduce pressure on his brain, surgeons performed a procedure to remove a portion of his skull. Since then, specialists have continued closely monitoring his condition while allowing his body the time it needs to heal.

For Aeric’s five children, however, the hardest part has been the waiting.

Because of intensive care unit visitation policies, his younger children have not been able to enter his hospital room. Instead, they have spent the past several days asking about their father, missing him deeply, and hoping for the opportunity to see him again.
