At just three months old, little Mohammad Al-Khatib was already facing a tragedy no baby should ever have to endure. 💔👶

Mohammad was in his mother’s arms while his family sheltered in a tent in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza when a strike hit their shelter.

His mother was killed while breastfeeding him.

Mohammad survived—but suffered devastating injuries that would change his tiny life forever. 💔🕊️

🏥💙 DOCTORS FOUGHT TO SAVE HIM
Despite the extremely difficult medical conditions around them, doctors in Gaza worked desperately to save Mohammad.

The little boy underwent multiple surgeries as medical teams tried to treat his severe injuries.

His left leg was so badly damaged that surgeons ultimately had to amputate it below the knee.

But that was only one part of his battle.

Mohammad also suffered serious burns and extensive damage to his left hand.

Doctors have warned that his hand remains at risk, adding another painful uncertainty to his recovery. 💔

🥹💙 HIS FAMILY REFUSES TO GIVE UP
After losing his mother, Mohammad’s father, Suhail Al-Khatib, and other relatives have taken on the responsibility of caring for him.

They are now appealing for access to specialized medical treatment outside Gaza.

Mohammad needs advanced reconstructive and limb-saving care—treatment that is extremely difficult to provide locally because of shortages of medical supplies, equipment and specialist services.

For his family, the goal is simple:

Give Mohammad every possible chance to heal.

Give him the best opportunity to preserve the function of his remaining hand.
