💔 Thousands Gather to Say Final Goodbye to the Hunt Family as Heartbroken Community Mourns an Unimaginable Loss 🕊️
An entire Australian community has come together in grief to honor the lives of the Hunt family, whose tragic deaths have left thousands heartbroken and searching for answers.
Family members, friends, neighbors, and supporters gathered in Lockhart, New South Wales, to celebrate the lives of Kim Hunt, 41, and her three children—Fletcher, 10, Mia, 8, and Phoebe, 6. Their emotional farewell became a powerful reminder of the impact one loving family can have on an entire community.
The four were found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ at their rural property near Lockhart earlier this month. The following day, the children’s father, Geoff Hunt, 44, was found deceased in a dam on the property. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
During a public memorial held at the local football oval, hundreds of balloons were released into the sky as mourners paid tribute to lives remembered for kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to others.
One of the most emotional moments came when Kim’s sister, Jenny Geppert, addressed the crowd.
“My big sister, my idol, my friend,” she said through tears. “What an amazing person you were, kind and caring. I feel lost in this world without you.”
Those words reflected the overwhelming sorrow shared by everyone who knew Kim. Friends described her as someone whose warmth could brighten any room and whose greatest joy in life was raising her children.
Following a private funeral at Lockhart Cemetery, Deputy Mayor Roger Schirmer spoke on behalf of the Hunt, Geppert, and Blake families.
He described the previous two weeks as “traumatic and full of sadness,” adding that the heartbreaking events had reminded everyone of the importance of compᴀssion, kindness, and respect.
Schirmer said the Hunts were deeply respected throughout the region. Whether volunteering at community events or helping neighbors through difficult times, they were always among the first to offer support.
He also remembered Geoff Hunt as a devoted husband and father with a quick wit, a love for water-skiing, tennis, and golf, and a sense of humor that could brighten anyone’s day.
For the people of Lockhart, the Hunts were far more than familiar faces—they were friends, neighbors, and an essential part of the town’s idenтιтy.
Although their lives ended far too soon, those who gathered to honor them made one promise clear: the Hunt family’s compᴀssion, generosity, and love for their community will never be forgotten.
Their legacy now lives on in the countless lives they touched and in a town forever changed by their loss.
