💔 South Texas Mother Undergoes Major Surgery in Fight to Stay With the Six Children Who Need Her 🙏
For years, Cindy Banda has carried a responsibility few people could imagine.
She became the mother figure six children depended on after losing her sister.
Now, she is fighting her own battle, determined to stay by their side for years to come.
Many people first learned Cindy’s story after the heartbreaking loss of her sister, Melissa Banda, who was taken from her family in South Texas in 2020.
Without hesitation, Cindy stepped forward.
She opened her home and her heart, taking responsibility for raising Melissa’s three children while continuing to care for her own children.
Six children.
One mother determined to give them love, stability, and a future.
But after dedicating herself to protecting her family, Cindy received devastating news of her own.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In October, Cindy underwent a mastectomy, hoping the procedure would be a major step toward recovery. However, doctors later discovered that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, creating new concerns and a more difficult road ahead.
For Cindy, the hardest part has never been the medical procedures themselves.
She says her greatest fear is leaving the six children who rely on her.
Her battle is not only about her own health—it is about keeping a promise she made to the children she loves.
Recently, Cindy shared that doctors at MD Anderson Cancer Center recommended another major procedure as part of her treatment plan. She underwent a hysterectomy, including removal of her uterus and ovaries, because doctors believe reducing estrogen levels may help slow the growth of her cancer.
As the surgery approached, Cindy admitted she was scared.
“I’m so tired of being sick,” she shared, while also expressing hope that this procedure could bring her closer to healing.
Despite everything she has faced, Cindy continues to hold onto faith and optimism.
She dreams of watching the children grow older, celebrating their milestones, and continuing to be the person they can always count on.
“I would truly appreciate every prayer,” Cindy said, explaining that the support from others has given her strength during some of the hardest moments of her life.
Today, friends, family, and supporters are surrounding Cindy with messages of encouragement and prayers.
They are asking for wisdom for her medical team, a successful procedure, and a path toward recovery.
Cindy’s story is a reminder of the extraordinary strength that can come from love.
After losing her sister, she chose to provide a family for children who needed her. Now, she is fighting to remain the person who gives them hope every day.
🙏 Please keep Cindy Banda and her family in your thoughts and prayers as she continues this courageous journey.
