💔 Ghana Steps In to Help Grieving Mother Say Her Final Goodbye to 15-Year-Old Son—Government Promises to Cover Every Travel Expense

🕊️ A mother in Ghana is preparing for the most heartbreaking journey of her life. After losing her 15-year-old son, Javits Frimpong, in New York, she faced the painful reality of being thousands of miles away. Now, the Ghanaian government has stepped forward with an extraordinary gesture of compᴀssion.

NEW YORK — Ghana’s government has announced that it will cover the full travel expenses of Doris Adu Gyamfi, the mother of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong, allowing her to travel to the United States to attend her son’s funeral.

Javits tragically lost his life on October 29, 2026, while walking to school in the Bronx. He had moved from Ghana to America approximately a year earlier to reunite with his father and pursue his dream of becoming a doctor.

đź’” A Mother’s Journey No Parent Should Have to Make

On October 31, Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, confirmed that President John Dramani Mahama’s administration would pay for Doris’s entire journey.

The minister explained that he had personally spoken with the grieving mother and á´€ssigned government officials to á´€ssist with her visa application.

The announcement followed an intervention by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who said President Donald Trump had agreed to facilitate an immediate visa for Doris.

Ghana also offered to contribute toward a dignified funeral for Javits.

For Doris, traveling to America is no longer about visiting a new country or celebrating a family reunion.

It is about standing beside her loved ones and saying goodbye to the son she had hoped to see grow into adulthood.

By covering her travel expenses, the Ghanaian government hopes to remove one major burden during an already overwhelming time.

Foreign Minister Ablakwa also reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to supporting the family as American authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding Javits’ pá´€ssing.

🕊️ A Young Dream That Ended Too Soon

Javits arrived in America with hopes of receiving a good education and eventually becoming a doctor.

His family imagined a future filled with opportunities, achievements, and happy reunions.

Instead, they are now preparing to honor his memory.

No amount of financial support can replace a child. But ensuring that his mother can travel across the ocean to say her final goodbye is a meaningful act of humanity.

For this grieving family, the kindness shown by officials and strangers alike is a reminder that they are not alone.

Javits Frimpong was only 15. His dreams deserved more time, and his memory deserves to be honored with love and dignity. 💔🕊️

May his family find strength, comfort, and peace during this incredibly difficult time.
