💔 Friends Share Concerns as New Details Emerge in the Death of Elena Katherine Moore

As investigators continue working to determine what happened to South Carolina fitness trainer Elena Katherine Moore, friends are sharing memories and concerns that paint a picture of a woman they say had faced personal struggles in the years leading up to her death.
Moore, 39, was found deceased on June 18 in Lexington, South Carolina, nearly a week after she was last seen leaving a Planet Fitness gym on June 11. Authorities confirmed her idenтιтy on June 20 after her body was discovered in a wooded area following a tip that led investigators to a new search location.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not announced a cause of death. Authorities have also stated that no one has been charged in connection with the case.

In interviews following the discovery, several of Moore’s friends described concerns she had expressed about her personal life over the years, including periods when she considered leaving her relationship with Brannon Slice, who later became her husband.
Aston Jeffcoat, a longtime friend, shared a Facebook Messenger exchange from July 2017 in which Moore discussed the possibility of ending a nearly five-year relationship and finding a new place to live.
In the message, Moore wrote that she might be ending the relationship and could be looking for a roommate.

The context behind the conversation remains unclear, and there is no indication that any action was taken at that time.
Another friend, Lauren Beasley, told reporters that Moore had periodically discussed leaving the relationship but ultimately chose to remain.
“She expressed that she didn’t know what to do,” Beasley said. “She would say things like, ‘I love him,’ and then things would be good. I hoped and ᴀssumed things had changed. It was definitely a cycle.”
Beasley described a pattern in which Moore would consider moving out or ending the relationship before deciding against it.

Sondra Campbell, one of Moore’s closest friends, also recalled conversations she had with Moore over the years and said their final meeting on May 31 felt different from previous interactions.
According to Campbell, Moore appeared unusually concerned about her circumstances and shared fears that left a lasting impression.
“She was scared for her life. She actually said those words to me,” Campbell said.
Campbell described Moore as one of her closest friends and said the two had shared personal details of their lives for more than a decade.
“Elena is one of my best friends,” Campbell said. “We’re really close and tell each other everything.”
She also expressed difficulty reconciling the circumstances surrounding Moore’s disappearance with the woman she knew.
“Elena was such a good person,” Campbell said. “My friend would not be alone walking at nighttime. She just wouldn’t be. It’s not her.”
Authorities have not publicly connected any of the statements made by Moore’s friends to the circumstances of her death, and investigators have not identified any suspects.
Earlier in the investigation, Lexington Police Department officials stated that Moore’s husband was not considered a person of interest at that time.
Inspector Missy Silcox told Newsweek that Brannon Slice “is not a person of interest at the current moment.”
According to Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green, investigators discovered Moore’s body after receiving information that led them to a new search area.
“At approximately 2:48 p.m., we found an unidentified body that fits the clothing description of our missing person,” Green said at the time.
Moore was last seen on surveillance footage walking through the Publix parking lot on Old Cherokee Road in Lexington on the evening of June 11.
As investigators await additional forensic results and continue examining the circumstances surrounding her death, friends and family remain focused on finding answers and remembering the woman they knew and loved.
For those closest to Elena Moore, the unanswered questions remain difficult, but they hope the ongoing investigation will eventually provide clarity about what happened during her final days.
