💔 AN 8-YEAR-OLD GIRL’S TUMOR IS GROWING — AND HER MOM IS BEGGING FOR MORE TIME

‼️ Just weeks ago, people were praying for an 8-year-old girl whose mother said she was slowly losing her to brain cancer. Now, that little girl is back in the hospital, and her mother is once again asking strangers to pray.

Sabrena Beard recently reached out with an update she desperately wished she did not have to share.

Her daughter was admitted to the hospital after her heart rate became dangerously high. Doctors also discovered that she was severely dehydrated. But the news that has devastated the family most is that the tumor in her daughter’s brain has grown.

“It’s hard,” Sabrena said. “They just saying the tumor growing. Not a good look at all.”

Many people first learned about the little girl’s story when Sabrena shared her journey in August.

It began on New Year’s Day, when her daughter started experiencing headaches. Her mother kept searching for answers until doctors finally discovered diffuse midline glioma, or DMG, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Only seven days after the diagnosis, the little girl underwent brain surgery — just one day before her eighth birthday.

Her battle continued with another procedure to drain fluid, followed by months of treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Then, in April, came a moment her family will never forget: she rang the hospital’s treatment bell.

For a family that had spent so long fighting, it felt like a reason to believe better days might finally be ahead.

In May, Sabrena says doctors told them the tumor appeared to be shrinking.

But the hope was short-lived.

By July, her daughter’s condition had deteriorated dramatically. The family learned the cancer had spread, and she was placed on hospice care.

Now she is back in a hospital bed.

She has stopped eating. Her tumor is growing. And her mother is sitting beside her, trying to give her daughter the strength to keep fighting while confronting a fear no parent should ever have to face.

“I ain’t never lost a child like this,” Sabrena said. “I need her to keep fighting.”

Then came a tiny moment that meant everything.

Sabrena says she continued telling her daughter to fight for as long as she could. Her little girl squeezed her mother’s hand and moved her arm.

To Sabrena, that small movement felt like her daughter was telling her that she could still hear her.

“I can’t lose her.”

Those words capture the fear behind every moment of this family’s fight.

Sabrena knows the doctors’ concerns. She knows the cancer is progressing. But a mother’s heart does not simply stop hoping because the news is devastating.

So once again, she is asking the prayer warriors who supported her family before to stand beside them.
