💔🙏 AT JUST 9, KAEDYN IS FACING THE FIGHT HE THOUGHT HE HAD ALREADY SURVIVED
At just 9 years old, Kaedyn is preparing to walk back into a world he hoped he had left behind—the hospital rooms, the treatments, and the uncertainty that once defined so much of his childhood.
Kaedyn was born with Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD), a rare disorder that affects the immune system and can leave the body vulnerable to serious infections. When he was only 1 year old, his family faced an enormous decision: a bone marrow transplant that they hoped would give their little boy the chance to grow up healthier.
But the transplant failed.
Now, nearly eight years later, Kaedyn is preparing for another transplant, expected in October.
This time, everything feels different.
When Kaedyn was a toddler, he was too young to fully understand what was happening around him. Now, at 9, he understands. He remembers the hospitals. He remembers the difficult treatments. He knows that another transplant will likely bring days when he feels extremely sick and exhausted.
And that understanding brings fear.
His mother, Cortneay, is facing those fears alongside him. Like any parent watching their child prepare for another major medical battle, she is scared of what lies ahead. But amid the uncertainty, she wants Kaedyn to remember something more important than the fear:
He will not be fighting alone. ❤️
His family is hoping that this second transplant will give Kaedyn the opportunity to move beyond the medical challenges that have shaped much of his young life. They are praying that his donor cells successfully engraft, that serious complications stay away, and that this time, the transplant brings the outcome everyone has been praying for.
For Cortneay, the days leading up to October are filled with emotions that are difficult to put into words. Hope and fear can exist side by side, especially when a parent knows exactly how much their child has already endured.
But Kaedyn’s family is determined to surround him with encouragement.
They are calling it Kaedyn’s Krusade—a community of people willing to stand behind a little boy as he prepares for another enormous challenge. 🙏💙
To many people, Kaedyn may simply be a 9-year-old preparing for a transplant.
To his family, he is a son who has already endured more than most children could ever imagine.
And to everyone joining his journey, he is a reminder of what courage can look like in a child.
As October approaches, Kaedyn’s family is asking for prayers, encouragement, and support.
Leave Kaedyn a ❤️ and tell him where you’re cheering him on from.
Let him know that when the next fight begins, his army is standing beside him. 🕊️💙
