💔🌸 AT JUST 3 YEARS OLD, JUJU IS GOING HOME — A COMMUNITY SURROUNDS A LITTLE GIRL AND HER MOM WITH LOVE
“There is nothing else the doctors are able to do.”
For Linsey, the mother of 3-year-old JuJu, those words represented a moment no parent should ever have to face.
Her little girl has endured an extraordinary medical journey in only a few months, including four brain surgeries, a brain bleed, weeks in intensive care, radiation treatments and an 11-centimeter brain tumor.
Now, after everything JuJu has been through, her mother has made the heartbreaking decision to bring her daughter home.
But Linsey’s message was not only about sorrow.
It was also about love, childhood and making memories.
“Ju is happy and eager to play so I’m bringing my baby home to make all the memories we can,” Linsey shared.
For a 3-year-old, the things she wants are beautifully simple.
A football game.
A playground.
A chance to smile.
A chance to spend time with the people she loves away from the machines, hospital rooms and medical treatments that have occupied so much of her young life.
Despite everything JuJu has endured, her mother says the little girl remains happy and eager to play.
And that desire has become central to Linsey’s decision.
Rather than allowing the coming days to be defined entirely by hospitals and medical procedures, she wants to fill them with moments JuJu can enjoy — moments that can become treasured memories for their family.
Yesterday, JuJu returned home to McColl, South Carolina.
She did not come home to an empty street.
Her community was waiting.
People lined the streets to welcome the little girl home, offering their presence, encouragement and love to a child who has spent much of the past several months in hospitals.
They also came to support Linsey, a mother navigating a situation that no parent should ever be forced to experience.
There may be no words capable of making this situation feel fair.
There may be no simple explanation for why a child so young has had to endure so much.
But there is something the community can give.
Love.
Prayers.
Compᴀssion.
And moments of joy.
For Linsey, every smile, every laugh, every trip to the playground and every family gathering can now become part of a collection of memories she will treasure forever.
JuJu’s story is a reminder that childhood can exist even in the middle of extraordinary hardship. A little girl can still want to play. She can still smile. She can still find happiness in a football game, a playground or simply being surrounded by people who love her.
And sometimes, when there are no answers that can make the pain disappear, showing up becomes its own form of love.
That is what McColl did for JuJu.
They lined the streets.
They welcomed her home.
They reminded her mother that she does not have to face this moment completely alone.
For everyone who has followed JuJu’s journey, there is one simple request: keep this little girl and her mother close in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏❤️
If you could send JuJu and Linsey one message of love, hope or comfort today, what would you say? 🕊️🌸
