In the kidnapping-plagued streets of Mexico City, burnt-out ex-CIA operative John Creasy (Denzel Washington) has lost all hope — until he takes a bodyguard job protecting nine-year-old Pita Ramos (Dakota Fanning), the bright and spirited daughter of a wealthy family.
At first, the alcoholic former assassin clashes with the cheerful girl, but Pita’s innocence slowly reignites something human in Creasy. A beautiful father-daughter bond forms, filled with swimming lessons, piano practice, and rare smiles.
