Born at 25 Weeks, 572 Grams: Darcy’s Journey from NICU Fighter to Thriving Schoolgirl

Meet Darcy 💛
She entered the world far earlier than expected—at just 25 weeks, weighing only 572 grams. From the very first moment, life was a fight.
Darcy was born with serious health challenges, including Chronic Lung Disease and a PDA heart condition. Instead of being cradled in the comfort of home, her earliest days were spent in the NICU, surrounded by monitors, oxygen support, and a team working tirelessly to help her survive.
Nothing about her beginning was easy.

There were setbacks along the way—small victories followed by difficult days—but through it all, Darcy kept going. Every breath she took was a sign of strength. Every tiny improvement became something worth holding onto.
For 139 days, the NICU became her world.
And during that time, something powerful unfolded: love, resilience, and hope carried her through the hardest moments.
Slowly, day by day, she grew stronger. The fragile newborn who once weighed less than a loaf of bread began to gain weight, build strength, and move toward stability. 💫

Then came the moment her family had been waiting for—Darcy was finally well enough to leave the NICU and go home.
Today, Darcy is 5 years old.
She is healthy, thriving, and getting ready to start school—a milestone that once felt uncertain, now filled with joy and possibility.
Her journey is a reminder that even the most fragile beginnings can lead to bright futures.
A story of strength.
A story of love.
A story of hope that never gave up.
