Paul Mescal suits up for Gladiator II premiere with co stars Connie Nielsen and Fred Hechinger

Paul Mescal looked fantastic in a deep green suit at the New York City premiere of Gladiator II on Wednesday night.

The 28-year-old Irish actor — who just met his doppelgänger — wore his double-breasted suit jacket unʙuттoned and layered a ɴuᴅᴇ-toned shirt underneath.

His sharp look was punctuated with a pair of shiny, black, leather dress shoes and he looked typically handsome with his hair cut into a neat, trendy mullet.

The Normal People star wore a single long, gold chain around his neck, which was accented with a small, round pendant.

He was joined at the premiere by co-stars Connie Nielsen, 59, and Fred Hechinger, 24.

Fred was similarly dressed in a three-piece olive green suit while Connie brought femininity to a dark gray suit of her own.

Paul recently revealed the unexpected advice director Ridley Scott gave him before filming his first Gladiator II scenes.

He plays Lucius in the epic and said that he didn’t fear taking the torch from Russell Crowe, who won an Oscar for his role in the 2000 original.

But the actor did say he was left asking himself ‘what the f*** does that mean’ following the 86-year-old filmmaker’s cryptic tip.

Speaking with the Hollywood Authentic, Mescal recalled, ‘He comes up, smoking a cigar, and he slaps me on the back, and goes: “Just remember, your nerves are no good to me.”

‘I was like “What the f**k does that mean?” What I took from it was: “This isn’t about you. So whatever legacy the film is taking, you’re actually doing it a disservice if you can’t wear that. It’s bigger than us all making the film. Just go make the film.”’

Paul also shared what nickname castmate Pedro Pascal gave him after he underwent intense training to get in shape for the role — ‘Paul the wall.’

Amid promotion for the film, which hits theaters November 22, Ridley dished on his plans for a third installment.

‘I’ve written 12 pages,’ he divulged to The Times before confirming he has also started drawing storyboards.

The sequel stars Paul and Denzel Washington and has been lauded by critics as ‘watchable and spectacular.’

And Scott also explained why Irish actor Barry Keoghan had to bow out of appearing in the anticipated feature.

‘Barry got locked into Saltburn,’ he shared with the New York Times.

Complimenting Keoghan on his blockbuster, Ridley shared, ‘I think that’s maybe the best film I’ve seen this year.’

He continued, ‘Anyway, Barry is one of the good ones, the same level as Joaquin Phoenix and and Paul.’

The renowned director gushed that ‘Barry is so complex and actually has it under control.’

‘I know he’s a bit of a challenge, but he’s worth it. Like deciding on Joaquin, it’s worth it,’ he admitted.
