FIVE MIRACLES IN MINUTES: Michigan Couple Welcomes Rare Set of Quintuplets

In a remarkable and heartwarming moment, a Michigan couple has welcomed a rare set of quintuplets—three boys and two girls—marking an extraordinary milestone for both their family and the hospital where the babies were born.

Jessica Hicks, 28, from Tyrone Township, delivered the five babies after a carefully monitored 32-week pregnancy at Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital, part of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The birth was especially significant, as it marked the first time quintuplets had been delivered at the hospital.

The journey to this moment required patience and resilience. Jessica spent a full month on bed rest in the hospital to help prolong the pregnancy and give the babies the best possible chance at healthy development. Her goal was to reach September 1—but she surpassed expectations, delivering safely four days later.

The quintuplets, conceived through IVF, were born via cesarean section within a remarkably short window—between 10:38 a.m. and 10:41 a.m. Each baby weighed between 3 pounds 7 ounces and 4 pounds 6 ounces, a promising range for multiples born at 32 weeks.

In order of birth, the babies were named Parker Michael, Carol Marie, Emmett Ryan, Nicole Lynn, and Ryker James.

For their father, Robert Hicks, 32, the experience was nothing short of overwhelming. “It was incredible to have five babies at once,” he shared. “We were overwhelmed with happiness.”

Now, the Hicks family begins a new chapter—one filled with sleepless nights, countless diapers, and an abundance of love. What started as a dream has quickly become a lively reality, as their home transforms into a place of extraordinary joy and unforgettable firsts.
