Heartbreaking Scenes in Iran as Families Bury Dozens of Schoolgirls Killed in Strike

GD&TĐ – The funeral procession began on the morning of March 3rd, bidding farewell to the young victims who died in the attack on a primary school in Iran.
Funerals began in the city of Minab, Hormozgan province (southern Iran), bidding farewell to the victims of the attack on a primary school during the recent Israeli and American offensive against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Mourners crowded the streets, carrying small coffins and photographs of the victims, the young children killed in the attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab.
Cries and prayers echoed throughout the city as grieving families said their final goodbyes.
The funeral took place three days after the US-Israeli attack that devastated the facility, killing 165 children and injuring nearly 100 others. The attacked building was a purely civilian, two-story structure.
Following the tragedy, prosecutor Minab confirmed the scale of the casualties, condemned the attack, and stated that among the dead were education staff and parents of students.

140 Bodies Identified
Chief Justice Mojtaba Qahremani of Hormozgan province stated that the identities of 140 people killed at the school have been confirmed so far, and burial permits have been issued for these cases.
“The identities of the remaining 25 bodies have not yet been confirmed,” he added.
According to Mr. Qahremani, due to the intensity of the explosion, some bodies could not be identified by conventional methods and require DNA testing.
He also stated that fragments of enemy weapons at the scene have been discovered and seized, and based on this, the case is being brought before domestic and international judicial authorities.
Immediately after the attack, thick smoke rose from the rubble as debris scattered along nearby roads. Many families rushed to the scene in panic, while emergency rescue teams searched for victims under the debris.
President Masoud Pezeshkian sent condolences over the “heartbreaking tragedy.”
According to the Iranian Red Crescent, more than 550 people have been killed across the region in the US and Israeli attacks since February 28.
