Tel Aviv — Israel is reeling after a barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles slammed into the Tel Aviv area, putting the country under its most intense pressure in years and turning its commercial capital into a front-line city.

Sirens wailed across central Israel as radars detected multiple launches from deep inside Iranian territory. Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow batteries roared into action, lighting up the night sky with interceptors, but several heavy warheads punched through the defensive umbrella, detonating near residential neighborhoods, major road junctions and an industrial zone on the edge of the city. Streets were left cratered, cars overturned and apartment windows blown out as emergency services fought fires and searched collapsed structures for survivors.

In Tehran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps hailed the strike as “direct punishment” for US–Israeli attacks on Iranian soil, claiming that “strategic targets” in Tel Aviv were hit with high-precision missiles. State media broadcast triumphant footage of launches and animated maps showing impact points along Israel’s crowded coastline, framing the attack as proof that “no corner of the Zionist entity is safe.”

Israeli leaders condemned the barrage as a “deliberate assault on civilians” and vowed a powerful response, convening an emergency war cabinet as reservists were called up and additional batteries deployed around major cities. Analysts warn that by striking Tel Aviv with ballistic missiles, Iran has crossed a new strategic and psychological line — one that could lock both sides into a cycle of retaliation from which it will be increasingly difficult to step back.
