“NEXT”: Nancy Grace Refuses to “Smell the Stench of Defeat” as Guthrie Case Hits Major DNA Setback

Nancy Grace, the tenacious true crime advocate, is not backing down in the case of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie. Despite a major setback in the investigation—a DNA failure to match a critical sample from a glove found two miles from Guthrie’s home—Grace is vowing that the pursuit of justice is far from over.

In a defiant statement, Grace addressed the latest obstacle, telling the public, “Did you ever think that this was going to be easy? Because it’s not, and it’s not going to be easy to solve this case. There are going to be many, many more setbacks than there will be advances in this case.”

The glove, which was a key piece of forensic evidence, failed to produce a CODIS hit (the national DNA database), leading some to fear the trail had gone cold. But Grace quickly dismissed any notions of defeat. “The fact that that glove, around two miles away from her home, did not get a CODIS hit—okay, fine, next,” she said. “Now we take that DNA and compare it in the Arizona databank, which has over half a million DNA profiles.”

Grace’s unshakable optimism reflects her commitment to the case, as she assured her followers that the investigation is still very much in its early stages: “I don’t want to smell the stench of defeat tonight—this is just starting.”

With Grace’s persistence and the Arizona databank now in the spotlight, the investigation is set to continue, and the hunt for answers is far from over. As always, Grace remains resolute in her belief that justice for Nancy Guthrie will prevail.
