New details have emerged regarding the tragic shooting at the hockey arena in North Providence, Rhode Island. Pawtucket Police Chief has officially identified the suspect as 56-year-old Robert Dorgan, who was also known by the alias Roberta Esposito.

The shooting, which occurred during a youth hockey game, left three people dead, including the suspect, who is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Law enforcement sources had earlier suggested that the suspect may have been dressed in women’s clothing at the time of the shooting, and there were reports that the shooter intentionally targeted family members during the incident.

In an update, the suspect’s daughter confirmed that her father was indeed the shooter, stating that he had been suffering from long-term mental health issues. When questioned about whether the suspect was transgender, the Police Chief stated that while the individual’s birth name and alias were identified, “that really doesn’t have anything to do with the investigation” at this stage.

This tragic event has shocked the local community, and authorities are continuing to investigate the motives behind the shooting.
