“WITH US OR AGAINST US”: Kevin O’Leary Issues Dystopian Warning on China’s Growing Power
Shark Tank investor and entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary is sounding the alarm over China’s rising global influence, warning that the West faces a stark choice: align with the fight against China’s ambitions, or risk falling behind in a new world order. O’Leary’s comments come in the wake of Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s 2026 Munich Security Conference speech, where global leaders, including Canadian PM Mark Carney, have increasingly embraced rhetoric about a “new world order”—a vision that O’Leary believes has major implications for global geopolitics.
“We’re at a turning point,” O’Leary said, bluntly stating, “You’re either with us—so to speak, against China—or you’re not.” Echoing the hardline stance adopted by the Trump administration, O’Leary stresses that China is aggressively positioning itself for world dominance—not just economically, but militarily and through technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence.
O’Leary’s warning centers on the growing divide between China and the West, highlighting the escalating tensions and the need for Western nations to take unified action. “China is getting ready for world dominance. I call it what it is. Economically, militarily, AI, power—you name it, those guys are not fooling around,” he said. The investor pointed to China’s massive strides in energy production and AI technology, noting that while the U.S. has failed to add new gigawatts of power in recent years, China has added a staggering 500 gigawatts to fuel its ambitions.
The remarks also come amid a frost in relations with Canada, triggered by PM Mark Carney’s controversial “new world order” speech at the 2026 Davos summit, which O’Leary believes has worsened trade relations. Carney’s rhetoric, combined with punitive tariffs and stalled negotiations, has put Canada at odds with the U.S. at a crucial time.
O’Leary expressed concern that without a united global response, China will emerge as the world’s superpower, reshaping global governance in a way that undermines democracy, freedom, and capitalism. “If you’re okay with that and you want to live in that kind of a world, well, I don’t,” O’Leary said. “So I’d like to see this thing worked out pretty damn fast.”
His call for urgent action is directed at Europe, Canada, and all democracies to rally behind a shared commitment to counterbalance China’s rise. “Europe has to get on board, Canada has to get on board, everybody that believes in democracy, freedom, and capitalism has to get on board. Or, you will see those guys walk into your country one day,” O’Leary warned, emphasizing that inaction could lead to a new geopolitical reality dominated by China.
As the global stage continues to shift, O’Leary’s fiery comments underscore the urgency for the West to confront China’s growing power and chart a course toward a future that preserves democratic values.
