THE EXPENDABLES 5: BACK FOR WAR (2025)

The Expendables 5: Back for War is a full-throttle adrenaline rush that knows exactly what it is—and leans into it hard. Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) reunites his elite crew for a do-or-die mission against a rogue military syndicate that’s hijacked a nuclear submarine to auction off missile coordinates. The stakes are global, the bullets endless, and the explosions gloriously excessive.
Jason Statham is in peak form as Lee Christmas, carving through enemies with blade-work so clean it’s surgical. Megan Fox adds lethal precision as a shadowy sniper, cool and deadly with every trigger pull. The wildcard arrival is Keanu Reeves as Ghost, a near-mythic ex-CIA operative whose quiet menace and haunted calm bring a new layer of intrigue to the chaos.
Director Scott Waugh delivers standout set pieces: a thunderous helicopter chase over the Adriatic, a brutal strobe-lit knife fight, and a nerve-shredding submarine infiltration as steel corridors flood with seawater. Amid the carnage, the team’s camaraderie—battle scars, dry humor, and mutual respect—keeps the film grounded.
The finale detonates with gunfire, metal, and rising tides as the missile countdown ticks toward zero. Stallone’s last-second heroics feel like a heartfelt curtain call, yet Reeves’ silent nod suggests the war may not be over.
Loud, proud, and unapologetically old-school, The Expendables 5 is pure action cinema—built on brotherhood, bullets, and one last ride.
