Deal Or No Deal disaster as fans rip into ’embarrᴀssing’ opening stunt – before slamming ‘ridiculous’ problem with ITV lineup

Deal Or No Deal fans have slammed an opening stunt in the latest episode, in which contestants performed an awkward dance number.

The ITV gameshow usually sees host Stephen Mulhern engage in some friendly chatter with the players, before someone is picked to take on the Banker and hopefully win a huge jackpot.

However, viewers were left taken aback when five of the contestants performed a dance routine in the opening minutes of the show.

The episode saw Stephen welcome player Daniel, who informed him that he used to be in a JLS tribute band and that he and four other contestants would be putting on a show for the other contestants.

Stephen was then heard saying to one player: ‘Brian H I forgot to ask you yesterday, you promised us a dance have you worked something out?’, to which he replied: ‘I may have done, I’ve got some volunteers as well.’

The lads, branding themselves ‘The Bad Boys’ then took to the main floor to perform a fun routine for the audience, reports The Express.

But while Stephen and the audience were loving it, the same couldn’t be said for viewers tuning in at home, who took to X to express their thoughts.

They penned: ‘When did #DealOrNoDeal become Strictly Come Dancing’; ‘Worst boyband ever’

‘Well that dancing was terrible. I’m 63 and could have done better than that’; ‘Just get on with the game!!!!’

‘This is so embarrᴀssing. Can you just start the game?’; ‘For the love of christ get on with it.’

Meanwhile, the episode also saw contestant Kelly G take on the Banker in the hopes of winning big, however viewers took umbrage at the timing of her game.

Some fans felt that Kelly didn’t wait as long as other contestants to be called up to play, suggesting it was unfair she only had to wait 10 days to play in comparison to others.

Sharing their thoughts on X, they penned: ‘Kelly G has only been there for 10 days, what the actual f**k is going on

‘Kelly? She’s been there what a week or so? WE WANT BRIAN’

‘Oh f**k off this is ridiculous now, she’s been on about 10 days?? P**s take!!’

However, things didn’t appear to improve for Kelly as her game turned into a disaster and she ended up leaving with just £50.

It comes after viewers were left baffled as a contestant broke down in tears during a recent episode of the ITV game show.

A plethora of potential players had joined host Stephen on the show in the hopes of being picked to take on the Banker and win a huge jackpot.

During the filming process, the contestant all live together in a H๏τel until a number of them have finally been chosen to have a go at the game.

During their stint temporarily living together, the players forge strong bonds, with stories of their friendship often being relayed on the show.

However, as air hostess Kelly was selected to face the Banker, her friendship with fellow contestant Carolynne was clear to see as the latter began to cry at her pal’s big moment.

As Carolynne struggled to hold back the emotions and was seen wiping her eyes with a tissue, she later told Stephen that she ‘thought Kelly would never get picked’ and that she was ‘so happy for her’, reports The Express.

Despite the seemingly sweet moment, viewers at home were not impressed and branded the tears ‘a bit much’.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, they penned: ‘How much time do these contestants spend together? Crying seems a bit much. #dealornodeal. Reminds me of Survivor after a week.

‘They must feed the #DealOrNoDeal contestants double sided doves and gin backstage, cos their always either loved up or crying.’

Meanwhile, Kelly ended up shedding a tear herself later in the game as she revealed her lucky charm.

As she fished the item out of her bra, causing the host to look away, Kelly revealed a carved wooden heart which was given to her in a church shortly after her sister pᴀssed away.

And it seemed that the lucky charm did the trick as Kelly went on to play a blinder of a game, going on to beat the Banker and bag an impressive 29,860 – despite only having £5000 in her box.
