đź’” OHIO MOM DIES AFTER TUMMY TUCK SURGERY, DOCTOR SPEAKS OUT IN HEARTBREAKING STATEMENT đź’”
The sudden death of 47-year-old Ohio mother Rachel Tussey following a cosmetic tummy tuck procedure has left her family grieving and raised serious questions about what occurred in the hours after surgery.
In a public statement, the surgeon involved, Dr. Shahryar Tork, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, describing himself as “heartbroken” for Rachel and her loved ones. He emphasized that the surgical procedure itself was completed without complications and that Rachel appeared stable immediately afterward.
According to Dr. Tork, Rachel was awake and communicating with her husband during the initial recovery period. Postoperative care was then transitioned to medical staff at an independent outpatient facility where monitoring continued.
However, sometime later, her condition reportedly deteriorated suddenly and unexpectedly. Upon being informed of the emergency, Dr. Tork stated that he immediately returned to assist in her care and helped coordinate her urgent transfer to a nearby hospital.
Despite these efforts, Rachel could not be saved.
In response to the incident, Dr. Tork announced that he has temporarily suspended performing procedures at the facility involved while investigations are ongoing to determine exactly what led to her sudden decline.
At this stage, officials have not released further medical details, and the exact cause of the deterioration remains under review.
The tragedy has sparked broader concern about postoperative monitoring practices and safety standards in outpatient cosmetic surgery settings.
For Rachel’s family, however, the focus remains on loss rather than procedure or protocol—a life that ended unexpectedly after what was meant to be a routine surgery.
As the investigation continues, many questions remain unanswered about what happened in the critical hours following the operation.
