TIGER WOODS STEPS BACK AFTER FLORIDA CRASH AND DUI ARREST
Tiger Woods, the legendary golfer, has announced he is stepping away from the public eye to focus on his health and “lasting recovery” following a car crash and DUI arrest in Florida.

The incident occurred on March 27, when Woods’ Land Rover clipped another vehicle while overtaking and flipped onto its side. Fortunately, neither Woods nor the other driver were injured. However, authorities arrested the 50-year-old on suspicion of driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test after he declined to provide a urine sample. Police also found two hydrocodone pills in his possession at the time.

Woods was released on bail eight hours later and has since issued a heartfelt statement on X, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” he said. Woods expressed gratitude for fans’ support and requested privacy for himself and his family during this time.

The PGA Tour also expressed support, emphasizing that while Woods’ impact on golf is legendary, his health and well-being come first. According to the arrest affidavit, Woods admitted he had been looking at his phone while adjusting the car radio just before the collision. Officers noted his eyes appeared “bloodshot and glassy” and he was unable to complete a sobriety test before being taken into custody.
This step marks another chapter in Woods’ ongoing journey of personal recovery, as he prioritizes his health above all else.
