First Day, Big Heart

First Day, Big Heart
On his first day of school, his backpack was almost bigger than him.
Mom adjusted his collar for the third time, hiding tears, whispering:
“Remember, my love… you can shine here too.”
He doesn’t know that some people see only the extra chromosome.
He doesn’t know the fear, prejudice, or distance that still exist.
What he does know is that school is a place to make friends, learn, and share his happiest smile.
Maybe he’ll need extra time to understand the rules.
Maybe his handwriting won’t be the neatest.
But his kindness, his hugs, and his cheering for friends?
That’s something no test can measure.
Today, as he walks the hallway carrying Mom’s words, all he asks is simple:
Someone to sit beside him.
Someone to smile back.
Someone to cheer when he gets it right.
Because inclusion isn’t a poster — it’s:
A child sharing a crayon
A teacher believing in potential
A classroom celebrating differences
If you saw him today, with that brave little smile,
Would you be the one to cheer him on?
Leave a word of support, a , a blessing.
Somewhere, a mother is reading your words, gathering strength for another day of courage.
