North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has overseen the launch of a strategic cruise missile from a newly built naval destroyer, highlighting the country’s growing maritime military capabilities at a time of escalating international tensions.

According to North Korean state media, Kim personally inspected the Choe Hyon-class destroyer, a 5,000-ton warship that represents one of the most advanced vessels in the country’s fleet.
