Iran Says Khyber Shekan Ballistic Missile Used in Strike on Central Tel Aviv

According to statements released by Iranian sources, the missile was launched as part of a broader series of coordinated attacks involving both ballistic missiles and drones aimed at Israeli strategic infrastructure. Iranian officials said the operation targeted key sites within the city and nearby military-related facilities.
Independent confirmation of the exact targets and the level of damage has not yet been fully verified.
The Khyber Shekan—whose name translates roughly as “Breaker of Khayber”—is considered one of the newest additions to Iran’s missile arsenal. The solid-fuel ballistic missile reportedly has a range of approximately 1,450 kilometers, enabling it to reach Israel from launch positions within Iranian territory.

Military analysts say the missile is designed with a maneuverable warhead and high-speed flight profile, which could make interception more difficult for conventional missile defense systems. Estimates suggest the weapon can travel at extremely high speeds and carry a significant payload capable of striking strategic targets.
Recent reports indicate that Iranian missile operations have also targeted locations such as Ben Gurion International Airport and other military-related facilities in Israel as part of the wider campaign.
The latest claims come amid rapidly escalating hostilities across the Middle East, with missile strikes, drone attacks, and military mobilization taking place across several countries in the region.
Security analysts warn that the deployment of advanced ballistic missiles like the Khyber Shekan signals a potentially dangerous new phase in the conflict. If the exchange of strikes continues to intensify, the confrontation could have significant implications for regional stability and global security.
