The Iranian government declared 40 days of national mourning, including seven national holidays.
Iranian television reported that Khamenei was in his office in central Tehran when the US and Israel launched the first wave of attacks. Satellite images released by Airbus show that the site suffered intense bombing raids. “His death in his office demonstrates his unwavering commitment to the people and his leading role in confronting what officials call global arrogance,” the report stated.
