“THE HAMMER OF JUSTICE”: Jim Jordan Confirms DOJ Fraud Probe is Going Nationwide

House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan has confirmed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is expanding its investigation into pandemic-era fraud cases, taking the crackdown on corruption to a national level. While the “Feeding Our Future” scandal in Minnesota initially drew attention to a staggering $250 million fraud scheme targeting COVID-19 relief funds, Jordan revealed that the scope of the investigation is now broadening far beyond Minneapolis.

The “Feeding Our Future” fraud case, which has become the largest COVID-19 relief fraud case in U.S. history, has already led to 78 individuals being charged as of late 2025. The scheme involved nonprofit organizations fraudulently claiming meals for children who were never served, using the misappropriated funds for lavish purchases, including luxury cars, real estate, and vacations.

Jordan has been vocal about the widespread nature of the fraud, calling it a “decade-long scam” that was allowed to persist due to “active assistance” from state leaders.

When asked about the next steps in holding perpetrators accountable, Jordan responded, “It is happening, but we need more focus… It needs to be a focus nationwide.” He also noted that while 60 people have already been indicted and some convicted, the investigation is far from over, and more needs to be done to uncover similar schemes happening across the country.

In response to concerns about the potential misuse of fraudulently obtained funds, including connections to terrorist groups like ISIS or Al-Shabaab, Jordan emphasized the complexity of the case and the importance of fully investigating any ties to criminal networks. The mention of young people being radicalized by such groups, especially in communities with large Somali populations, underscores the far-reaching consequences of such financial crimes.

As the DOJ ramps up its efforts to expose these fraudulent schemes, Jordan’s update sends a clear message: “The hammer of justice is coming.”
