Shelter (2026)

Jason Statham does what he does best in Shelter—kicks serious ass while looking effortlessly cool . As Mason, a haunted ex-special forces operative hiding out on a rugged Scottish island, he’s all gruff isolation and buried trauma until a massive storm changes everything. He pulls a young girl, Jessie (Bodhi Rae Breathnach shines here), from the churning sea, and suddenly his quiet exile turns into a full-on war zone.
Directed by Ric Roman Waugh (who knows how to handle Statham’s intensity), the film mixes raw, practical action with moody coastal vibes—crashing waves, misty cliffs, and brutal hand-to-hand fights that feel grounded and vicious . Bill Nighy adds sly menace as a former handler pulling strings from afar, while the story digs into redemption, protection, and facing your past demons. It’s familiar territory (reclusive badass forced back into the fight), but Statham’s charisma and the tense survival stakes keep it gripping.
Not groundbreaking, but damn entertaining if you’re in for high-octane thrills and a solid hero moment. Worth catching on the big screen for those bone-crunching sequences.
