Paul Mescal traded in his trademark tiny shorts for triple layers on Wednesday, as he braved the winter chill to grab a coffee to go in New York City.
The actor, 28, has quickly built a reputation for always wearing ‘short shorts’, with his now-signature look influencing men’s style around the world as his star has continued to rise.
But with temperatures dropping to near-freezing this week, the Irish star opted to wrap up in tailored black coat for his outing.
Paul ensured he still looked effortlessly stylish, wearing a pair of simple dark jeans and a plain white T-shirt with trendy black boots.
Keeping the cold further at bay, he also donned a cozy ʙuттon-up cardigan and had his usual wire headphones draped around his neck.
Attempting to keep a low profile, the Oscar nominee hid his handsome face beneath a baseball cap and a pair of sunglᴀsses.

Paul previously spoke about his love of tiny shorts, telling GQ in June, that he was a ‘big advocate for men wearing shorter shorts’.
Explaining how he put the outfit together, the Gladiator 2 star said: ‘From my eye, it’s to do with proportion. Like shorter shorts with maybe a longer top.’
In a recent interview with Variety, Paul argued that he was not to blame for the sudden surge in men adopting the small short look, saying: ‘For the record, I don’t think I’m responsible’.
However, his close pal and fellow movie star Saoirse Ronan disagreed, saying: ‘He’s somehow managed to make something that’s not really cool look really cool.
‘And when he paired it with the mullet and mustache a couple of years ago, I was like, “OK, this is either gonna go one way or the other”.’
Elsewhere in the interview from last month, Paul opened up about feeling the pressure following the release of his latest film Gladiator II.
The highly-anticipated sequel follows Pauls’ Lucius Verus, the former heir to the Roman Empire who is forced into slavery and eventually pushed to fight in the Colosseum in an effort to restore glory.
Reviews from critics have called Gladiator II the ‘best movie of the year’ and a ‘true epic’ as they hailed Paul and Denzel Washington’s performances.

However, Paul admitted: ‘I do feel the pressure, and I do feel the desire for this to make money. The box office needs a sH๏τ in the arm, and if films like Gladiator II aren’t doing it, it would be concerning. So I do feel a responsibility.’
He also recalled how he had gotten into a row with director Ridley Scott, after he ‘trained for f***ing months’ to do his all for one action-packed and stunt-filled scene, when Ridley changed his mind.
Paul said: ‘Two weeks before the scene, Ridley says, ‘You’re not f***ing doing it,’ and I was like, ‘What the f**k?,’ and we had this argument.’
The award-winning filmmaker had decided to cut the scene due to some equine advice he had received on another movie.
Paul added of the altercation: ‘I was pestering him constantly. And then the day before, he goes, “OK, you can do the stunt, but if you come off, it’s two Bentleys.”
The Aftersun star revealed that eventually pulled the move off in just a couple of takes.

Paul underwent a gruelling workout routine to create his ripped physique for the film, however he admitted that he couldn’t bring himself to give up drinking or smoking.
‘I was petrified that they were going to take away everything, like drinking and I smoke. Everything fun,’ he said.
Paul went on to say he asked his fitness trainer Tim Blakeley to help him work drinking and smoking into his rigorous training regime.
He said: ‘I very earnestly was like, “Look, Tim, I’m going to keep drinking and smoking for a little bit if I can. He very kindly incorporated them, not into the workout routine, but just into my life.’
