Adele revealed whether she will hit the theaters this weekend to watch the musical adaptation of Wicked – despite admitting that she was not a fan of the original production.
The Someone Like You singer, 36 – who will conclude her Las Vegas residency on Saturday – opened up about what she plans to do during her concert on Friday at Caesar’s Palace.
In a now-viral video shared to TikTok, the British-born star could be seen addressing the audience while on the topic of ‘witches.’
‘Talking of witches, right, I don’t really like musicals. And don’t judge, you know. I think it’s an art. I think it’s a craft,’ she began.
The Grammy winner continued, ‘I think it’s absolutely phenomenal. It just doesn’t do anything for me.’
‘But whatever this Wicked campaign has going on, I am gagged to see it. I am excited,’ Adele added, which caused cheers to erupt from the crowd.

‘I am going to watch Wicked which is absolutely crazy because I didn’t like the musical itself. I don’t like any musicals and, but I – it’s working.’
‘The marketing campaign has worked. It has worked on me. And I am absolutely going to see it probably on Sunday, when I’m going to see it. I’m very, very excited,’ the star concluded.

The clip was also reposted to X, and fans of the musical shared their thoughts on Adele revealing she will watch the film – which officially released in theaters on Friday.
Ariana Grande took on the role of Glinda, while Cynthia Erivo played the character of Elphaba. Other stars that appeared in the movie include Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater and Bowen Yang.
The original Broadway production of Wicked first began in 2003, with Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel portraying Glinda and Elphaba respectively.
One fan typed out, ‘When she falls in love with Ariana and then calls her to be on the next album,’ while another added, ‘Adele! What a supportive queen!’

Wicked is heading to a whopping $120 million opening this weekend, after raking in around $19.2 million alone in previews this week, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The large opening weekend for the musical fantasy film will be the biggest for a Broadway adaptation – and the fourth-largest for a musical film that premiered in theaters.
The large box office draw could also put Wicked at the third-biggest opening in theaters for 2024.
While Adele has plans to catch the movie this weekend, she will also hit another milestone on Saturday – and conclude her Las Vegas residency which began two years earlier in November 2022.
Every Friday and Saturday, the performer has taken to the stage at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace – and has candidly admitted that she has ‘run out of gas.’
During a recent performance, per The Mirror, Adele addressed the crowd and stated, ‘Doing four hours a weekend of completely live singing is a lot.’
One added, ‘We won! Adeliana interaction is coming,’ while another shared, ‘I got excited that we’d get her opinion about it at next week’s show then I remembered this is her final weekend’
‘And I chat a lot, and I’m very, very sensitive and I’m emotional. I am battered after these shows. And I take every single person on in this room into my soul, I take you home with me.’
The songstress – whose real name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins – then joked that she looks like ‘the pigeon lady from Home Alone’ and that she has a ‘bedraggled’ appearance.
When she is not taking to the stage Sunday through Thursday, the star explained that she was in ‘full recovery’ – but added that she ‘loves’ the shows.
However, she told the crowd that she was ready for the residency ‘to be over’ and talked about the concerts officially coming to an end.
‘It’s a big deal to me because it’s very, very bittersweet. But this [residency] has been in my mind for four years…four years for one f***ing idea.’
Adele said, ‘So I’m looking forward to having loads of spare time to love on my kids, to love on my man and to love on another kid. To love on my house.’
The Set Fire To The Rain hitmaker explained that she had stopped drinking red wine because it ‘dries out my vocal cords’ and gives her hangovers.

However, once her final concert concludes, Adele expressed that she is ‘probably going to have a [lot] of red wine.’
‘So that’s the most exciting thing for when the show ends! Then after that I think I’m just going to really, really veg until the end of the year. I feel like I’m early hibernating already.’
Back in September, Adele doubled down on plans to take a hiatus from music for ‘an incredibly long time.’
